Interested in trying sheep?

We have plenty of sheep for anyone interested in working with sheep.  We have plenty of Shetland Sheep (nice and small and easy to handle) and a few others.  Just ask Kristen or Emily.

Monthly Meeting Topics

All Sheep meetings will be held at Podunk Farm Resources at 99 Main St. South Windsor.

November:   Sheep breeds.  What are...Primitive breeds?  Merino types?  Hair sheep?  Dairy sheep?  Commercial breeds?

December:   Working with wool.  Learn to knit or crochet.  Bring your needles, hooks and yarn...or we have plenty for you to use.

January:   Sheep Health...How to keep my sheep healthy.  Preventative care is essential.

February:  Uconn 4H Sheep Day :  Info to come.

March:   .Parasites...to see, or not to see.  What can sheep get?  How do I treat them?  How do I PREVENT them!

May:  . Sheep Quizbowl

June:   Showing and showmanship

July:  getting ready for the fair.  How to prepare your sheep..  Do you bathe? shear? trim? or what?

August:  Tolland County 4H Fair.
